I am an experienced General Counsel and operator with over 20 years’ experience advising boards and senior management at all stages of a company’s lifecycle. I have a proven track record of developing and implementing alternative approaches to legal risk-taking while considering both long- and short-term business outcomes. I have extensive legal expertise managing legal functions on a global scale, including expertise in debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, SEC reporting and securities compliance, B2C/DTC and enterprise SaaS sales, information security and data privacy, crisis management, litigation and dispute resolution, employment law matters, IP transactions, and risk management.
My strengths lie in my ability to negotiate successful resolutions of contracts, disputes, and other business needs through effective oral and written communication. I am a collaborative problem solver with a strong emphasis on team building and mentorship.
A Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), I have deep expertise in privacy and information security. I have spent more than 7 years implementing and supporting compliance, security and risk management programs at a variety of organizations.
As the General Counsel for DataCamp, Inc., I advise the board of directors and senior leadership on all legal matters, including managing corporate governance, data privacy and information security, HR and employment law, regulatory compliance, and government agency inquiries globally. Additionally, I lead negotiations of SaaS and enterprise sales contracts supporting double digit annual sales growth and partner with commercial leaders to develop effective global contracting processes. Through effective management I have successfully external legal spend by a significant amount and have supported double digit improvements in margin. I also oversee global risk management initiatives, including global insurance programs.
Before joining DataCamp in 2022, I served as the General Counsel and Head of Administration at LoanStreet, a NYC-based fintech, where I was responsible for building the company’s first legal department, designing and implementing the company’s sales contracting process, championing the implementation of the information security and data privacy function, and developing HR and other compliance policies and procedures. Prior to joining LoanStreet, I was an Assistant General Counsel with a publicly traded medical device company where, among other things, I managed corporate governance and SEC reporting obligations. I also played a leading role developing and implementing enterprise risk management and supply chain monitoring programs, as well as working on information technology issues. Before that I was an Associate with Shearman & Sterling LLP and Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP where I handled a broad range of matters for investment banking and corporate clients in leveraged and acquisition finance, securities, liability management, public and private M&A and general corporate matters. I graduated from Princeton University (A.B.) and Syracuse University College of Law (J.D., summa cum laude), where I was the notes and comments editor of the Syracuse Law Review.
I served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Syracuse University Law Alumni Association for 9 years and currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Hudson Highlands Land Trust and as a member of the Finance and Audit committees. I regularly speak on matters of corporate law, strategy, negotiation and privacy law.
